Welcome to this quick introduction of how you can Ask the Librarian.
The place to begin is at Library.Devry.edu. From there, there are two links you can go to. Either one will get you there. So click on Ask the Librarian.
On this page there are a number of ways to find more information out on any number of subjects. For example, there’s an FAQ area we call the Knowledge Base. If you were interested in finding more about APA, you could go ahead and type that in and then click Submit.
Once I type that in I find that there are 22 other records. These are questions from other students very much like yourself Let’s go down and see if we can find one that looks like what we’re looking for.
Here’s one, number three, How Do I Cite an APA and What Resources are Available? This page lets me know the variety of resources that are available. In particular I can look at the answer and find information in the hub . I can go to Noodle Tools. I can also go to the APA site itself. Lots of places to go to learn more about this important topic.
Now if I didn’t find what I was looking for in the FAQs in the Knowledge Base, I can also go ahead and e-mail a librarian. The e-mail service tries to get back with you within 24 hours or 1 business day of your posting.
To post an e-mail question I need to include my name and my e-mail address. Then I need to identify which school I’m with, DeVry, Chamberlain or Carrington. From there I designate whether I’m in an online or an onsite class and then I go ahead and post my question. Once my question is entered, all I need to do is submit that question.
Sometimes students prefer to talk to a real person. If you’d like to do that you can find a list of librarians and their phone numbers.
This is a listing of phone numbers for DeVry University librarians, Chamberlain College of Nursing and Carrington College Librarians. It includes their office phone numbers and a link to their local website.
Some students prefer a real-time chat-based reference experience. We can provide you with that as well. Be sure to note the time zone for the availability. Once you have determined if it’s available in your time zone, go ahead and select Live Chat.
Once you have posted some preliminary information you will be connected with a live librarian and be able to engage in a real-time chat to assist you with research, reference and other questions including APA.
If you still have questions, guess what. You can go and find out in Ask a Librarian, but if you still have additional questions, please feel free to reach out and get in touch with me. My name is Daniel Leistman and I can be reached at DLeistman@Devry.edu and I’ll be happy to assist you.
